Saturday, April 16, 4th Annual Earth Day in the Park - The FOGVG was at
the Hamlin Beach State Park celebration of Earth Day from 9 AM to 3 PM.
Friday & Saturday, May 6 & 7, 17th Annual Our Fragile World Environmental Fair at Seneca Park Zoo: 10 AM - 4 PM each day. Details at www.senecaparkzoo.com
Sunday, May - 30th Annual "Journey for Sight" 5K Walk-a-Thon
Belfast, NY (meet at the park next to Rt. 19), 12:00 - 1:00 Registration;
Walkers departed at 1:00, runners at 1:30. Sponsored by the Allegany County
Lions Clubs, the route included one mile of the Greenway (between Hughes

Saturday, May 21, 1 - 3 PM, Introduction to the Genesee Valley Greenway
Bike Ride: This 15 mile ride experienced a tunnel of green as it traversed
south to a historic stone lock and double-arched culvert. This ride started
and ended at the front door of Genesee Valley Recreation Center (149 Elmwood
Ave.) in Genesee Valley Park. Ride leader: David Shaw
Monday, June 6, 4 PM: FOGVG Board Meeting, Houghton College, Houghton, NY
Saturday, June 11, 15th Annual ADK Outdoor Expo, 9 am - 4 pm Mendon Ponds Park Beach Area: Workshops and demonstrations took place all day. Environmental organizations (including FOGVG) were represented. www.gvc-adk.org
Saturday, July 30, Greenway History Hike: From Brook Road parking area north to the double arch culvert, 3.8 mile round trip. A secondary hike south to Lock #2, about another 1.5 miles round trip was offered. Hike Leader, Todd Blide

Friday, Sept. 9 - Saturday, Sept. 10 - Highlander Cycle Tour & Expo:
Bristol Mountain Winter Resort, Canandaigua, NY, Five cycle tours (25- 130
miles) of various levels of difficulty in the scenic Bristol Hills. Spectacular
views, rider giveaways, rest stops and SAG support. FOGVG maned a rest stop

Saturday, Sept. 24 - Sunday, Sept. 25 - DEC Hunting & Fishing Days
NYSDEC Region 8 Headquarters, Avon, NY, 9:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Numerous vendors,
displays, and activities related to conservation/wildlife take place during
these two days.

Saturday, Oct 8 - Sunday, Oct. 10 Letchworth Park Art & Crafts Show: 10 AM to 5 PM daily with over 300 vendors, musical entertainment, and about 90,000 attendees. FOGVG was represented here.
Sunday, Oct. 16 - 19th Annual Ridgewalk & Run - Wellsville, NY- This event, attracted over 800 participants, featured spectacular trail walks and competitive runs (14 miles, 10K, & 5K) showcasing the stunning fall beauty in the northern Plateau Region of the Allegheny Mountains. Saturday, Oct. 29 Dedication of Prospect Street Bridge: The Village of Cuba will be dedicating a new bridge over the railroad at 2 PM. This bridge will allow access to the Greenway in Cuba, where a TEP Grant is being used for additional bridges and trail development. Information: call (585) 968-0067
Sunday, Nov. 6: FOGVG Annual Events: Hikes starting at Yard of Ale in Piffard (2 PM - 7.8 mi; 4 PM - 1.4 mi); 5 PM Program "Plans and Connections in NY and PA for the Triple Divide Trail System and a possible Greenway from Lake Ontario to Chesapeake Bay" by Prof. Allen Kerkeslager, St. Joseph's University, and Prof. Jon Schull, RIT, at Geneseo United Methodist Church, Rt. 63 & Court St.; 6:15 PM Dish-to-Pass Dinner at Church (bring dish-to-pass and table service); 7:15 PM Brief FOGVG Meeting.
